There are moments when the distance between school and work truly narrows.
It happens when you step into a place like the Honda plant in Atessa, where quality, method and organisation cease to be abstract concepts and become a real, hands‑on experience.
During the 2025–2026 school year, 757 students passed through the gates of the Honda plant in Atessa. Coming from different types of schools, from Abruzzo, neighbouring regions and even abroad, each of them brought their own curiosity, expectations, questions and, above all, different dreams.
For all of them, however, the experience shared a common thread: entering to see, listen and observe, with the aim of leaving with something more.
Not just a visit
Visits to the production plant are not just moments of observation, but represent a genuine encounter with the world of Honda Italia.
An opportunity to experience a way of working built on responsibility, skills and continuous improvement, within an organisation that places people and their ideas at its core, every day.
During the visits, students had the chance to discover not only how a Honda scooter is made, but also what it means to be part of a complex and structured system, where technical expertise and a strong work culture have coexisted every day for 55 years.
An experience that leaves a mark
For many young people, this represents their first direct contact with the industrial world.
And for this very reason, the value of the experience goes beyond what can be seen.
Entering the plant means understanding that work is not just about execution, but also about organisation, attention and collaboration.
It means seeing how ideas, processes and people come together to create something tangible, through a method developed and refined over more than half a century in the Atessa area.
An experience that helps to guide, inspire and support future choices.
The numbers matter: 757 students, dozens of schools, diverse pathways—but there is more than just a visit.
There is the ambition to play an active role in the local area, to build an ongoing dialogue with the world of education and training, starting from the very foundations, and to contribute to the growth and dissemination of a more conscious work culture.
Welcoming schools means opening up, but also taking on a responsibility: to show what lies behind what we produce and the level of commitment required to consistently maintain the highest quality standards. In other words, to ensure that Honda continues to be what it is—for Italy and for the world.
A vision that keeps evolving over time
“Opening the doors of the Honda Italia plant in Atessa,” comments Human Resources Director Mario Di Cesare, “means sharing not only what we do, but how we do it. Through these visits, we aim to offer young people a first approach to the industrial world, helping them understand the value and impact that Honda and its Associates are able to generate—within the local area and beyond.”
A commitment that Honda Italia Industriale has been pursuing for years, with steadily growing numbers, involving an increasing number of students and educational institutions at all levels. This is also reflected in the growing interest from schools seeking to offer their students a ‘real’ experience outside the classroom.
